One of the issues I came across when first integrating smart lights into my home, was that my visitors and guests would often turn off the light at the switch causing it to no longer be smart.
After reviewing my choices, I realized that I could simply deny my guests access to the switches.
Thus the light switch cover was born.

Originally the cover was posted on thingiverse, after a few weeks on the site a user said, “I don’t have a printer but really want one, would you sell me one?” and thus my etsy was born.

After 4 years, 250+ orders, and 5 new variations I can happily say that I have made a viable product.

Further this product is specifically useful for converting homes built pre-automation, allowing smart home enthusiasts to add smart lights while removing the old features yet keeping them easy to re-install.
Beyond just lights, users have reported the covers helping keep wifi enabled, and restrict renters and tenants from turning off other essential services.

In truth, the product was first created to stop my mom. The “NO” was a very passive-aggressive design attribute that I honestly regret adding but also wonder if the product would have been nearly as successful if it was never added. Some user feedback indicates that the choice between NO and ON can be a fun and personalizing dimension.
